1. The CNC request for mediation has been agreed to by the State in an attempt to move negotiations forward. The mediation process will address the seven monetary articles of which there is no tentative agreement . Mediation will be held March 22- 23, 2010, in Anchorage.
2. The CNC and the State have reached tentative agreements (TA) on the following non-monetary articles: Article 9 (Nonpermanent Appointments) and Article 29 (Safety and Health).
3. All TA’d Articles are available on the CNC webpage in the ASEA website. To date, 10 of the 42 Articles remain to be negotiated.
4. The Juneau Chapter held a rally on the steps of the State Office Building. Over one-hundred activists braved inclement weather to express support for the Contract Negotiating Committee. Attendees spoke up for continued support of their bargaining team as the union and the state enter into mediation. 5. The next negotiating session is scheduled for March 10-11, 2010, in Juneau.
6. Worksite meetings are being scheduled. Times and dates will be announced and posted on bulletin boards. Your participation is essential.
