This vacancy will be filled in accordance with Article 7.06 of the ASEA Constitution which states, “Vacancies in office shall be filled on a temporary basis by vote of the State Executive Board and the member so elected shall serve out the unexpired term unless the vacancy occurs in a time frame to be filled by the next regularly scheduled election. In that event, the membership shall then proceed to elect a member to replace the appointed member and to serve out the balance of the unexpired term.” To be eligible for the position, a member must be a member in good standing with the Union (all dues paid in full for pay periods in which they received compensation) and be of the professional job classification Five nominations were received for the Professional Representative Position, one nominee was disqualified for not being in good standing. The remaining four nominees were verified to be in good standing and members of the professional job classification. Ballots were sent to each of the Executive Board members, all of the ballots were received in the Anchorage Union office with postmarks on or before July 30, 2004. A count was conducted of the Statewide Executive Board Secret Ballot for the Professional Representative Executive Board Seat. Attached are the certified results as witnessed by two members of ASEA AFSCME Local 52.
