More than 80% of counted ballots in favor of new contract, but it must be approved by the Alaska Legislature before going into effect.

The Statewide Elections Committee conducted a count of the Statewide Election for the Contract Ratification Ballots.
Attached are the certified results as witnessed by the members of the Statewide Elections Committee.
The ballot question read:
“In accordance with 20.02.000.F, the Contract Negotiating Committee is recommending that the following two questions be put to the membership:
YES: I accept the terms of the Tentative Agreement.
NO: I reject the terms of the Tentative Agreement and thereby request the CNC to resume negotiations with the state.”

You will note that there is a 1 vote discrepancy between the total number of valid envelopes received and the number of ballots for which there is an accounting, this is due to one ballot envelope that contained two ballots.
