Dear GGU Member:

The ASEA/AFSCME Local 52 Statewide Elections Committee conducted a count of the contract ratification ballots for the 2004-2007 Collective Bargaining Agreement on Thursday, August 19.

The election committee certified that 2704 valid ballots were received. Total votes cast for yes (to ratify) was 2218. Total votes cast for no (not to ratify) was 473. Therefore, the contract was ratified by a majority of the GGU members who cast a valid ballot. Approximately 38% of the union membership participated in this vote. We will continue to be under the terms of the 2003 to 2004 collective bargaining agreement until the State Legislature approves the 2004-2007 Collective Bargaining Agreement in the coming legislative session.
