The State Division of Labor Relations has released a memo describing the procedure for converting sick/annual leave to personal leave.

If you currently accrue leave under the annual/sick leave system, and do not elect to convert to personal leave during this opportunity, you will remain in annual/sick leave system for the duration of the 2004-2007 contract.

There is no guarantee that additional opportunities to convert leave will be negotiated into future contracts.

Approximately 1,250 GGU members are affected by this announcement. The 30-day window for converting sick/annual leave to personal leave ends Nov. 30.
