In Nome, chapter members staffed a table at the recent Firemen's Carnival, a fundraiser for the local fire department. The chapter purchased a table at the event to sell popcorn and children's candy. Nome Chapter Executive Board member Lauri Medlin said the event was a successful fundraiser for the chapter, as well. "By the end of the carnival, we'd sold out of popcorn, and we had a lot of popcorn," Medlin said. "Among the many people who helped with this fundraiser, Chapter Treasurer Maureen Kozuna deserves special recognition for her part in coordinating it," she added. The Nome Chapter also hosted an All State Employees Christmas party on Dec. 18. Some 50 current and retired state employees from different departments and unions attended the holiday gathering with family and guests. The party featured door prizes, a gift exchange, karaoke, and generous amounts of food. A large decorated cake reading "Merry Christmas from ASEA Local 52" was served to guests. |
