Emergency Leave Bank Announced Print E-mail

Dear GGU Member;

Article 26.13 of the General Government Unit's July 1, 2004 to June 30, 2007 Collective Bargaining Agreement creates an Emergency Leave Bank for GGU members.

The Emergency Leave Bank has been established to help members who need leave for major medical reasons and whose leave balance is not adequate for that purpose. This is a voluntary program. Members who want to participate will be required to donate a day of leave annually to the Emergency Leave Bank. Upon donation of the day of leave the member will have access to the Bank. This is an excellent way to help your fellow union members as well as to provide an element of security for yourself.

If you would like to participate in this program beginning July 1, 2005 you must enroll by notifying the Union before June 30, 2005. The next opportunity to become a participant will be during the November 2005 open enrollment period. The Emergency Leave Bank guidelines and the form for enrolling in the Bank are available in the Union offices in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau, or you can click on the following link to download and print the enrollment form.

If you have questions regarding the Emergency Leave Bank please contact a union steward or contact a union business agent.
