GGU member Michael Williams has been appointed to the Alaska Retirement Management Board to fill one of two seats representing public employees. The ARM Board was created under SB 141 and replaces the three previous retirement system boards--PERS, TERS, and ASPIB. Williams, an auditor with the Dept. of Revenue, has been active in ASEA/AFSCME Local 52 for many years. He has held the position of State Executive Board Secretary for consecutive terms and was recently elected as a Trustee to the ASEA Legal Health Trust. "I strongly believe in Alaska's future and the future of its public employees. I will do my best to uphold my fiduciary responsibilities to the plan and its participants, so that the State's Retirement systems have long-term viability and stability," said Williams. |
