Dear GGU Member: In February of 2003, ASEA, on behalf of the Certified Nurses Aides and Assisted Living Aides, filed a Class Action Grievance against the State regarding pay as a result of the December 2002 reclassification. In October of 2005 the Union and the State of Alaska entered into a Letter of Grievance Resolution (LGR) to resolve the grievance. The LGR specified that the appropriation for the settlement of this grievance would be be included in the supplemental request appropriation submitted to the legislature. You may review it by clicking on the following link: This appropriation in the supplemental appropriation bills which meets the terms of the LGR is a priority for the Union. We will be working with the House and Senate Finance Committee members to urge their approval of the appropriation. Senate Bill 263 and House Bill 422, making supplemental appropriations for FY 06 include an appropriation of $421,000 in compliance with the agreement in the Letter of Grievance Resolution.
