Committee Appointments
Susan Carpentino email; Nadine had sent members her email.  Susan wanted to put forth names for our committee.
Toya asked when we will know who is appointed to our committee.
A: 22nd and 23rd in Kodiak, it will be dealt with.  Hopefully they can approve Barb then.  We discussed having time go by without another appointment.

Thank You's
Nadine will send Thank you cards to people that were not delegates and helped us out at the convention: Zuzanna, Mary Jo, and a third person from Anchorage that helped.  Nadine is making pink beaded bracelets or name tag holders for each of us.

Chicago
What do we want brought to Chicago?  Barbara is guaranteed to go and will bring stuff from AK to sell for our committee.  Nadine is going but hopes to go as a delegate.  Nadine wants to send a calendar to each chapter so they can pay for participation instead of us paying.  Anyone can send a draft letter to Nadine.

New Business
Convention Reimbursements: Zuzanna brought up for the statewide eboard to pay her per diem.  Toya suggests going to chapter for $$.  $84 is the amount for 2 days per diem.  Toya moves for $84 to reimburse Zuzanna the 2 days she worked the auction table.  Motion passed.  Dee had trouble getting reimbursed for Tuesday hotel room.  She paid out of pocket.  Nadine suggested talking to the union office re: her reimbursement sheet.

Annual Exams: Toya said in June 2005 the health trust wouldn't pay for what they have always paid for.  At first they denied paying, then they finally paid it.  She found out that the trust pays for women to walk into the office, have the exam (swab) done, and the lab reading - no more, no less.  They won't pay for the breast exam.  Toya talked to Patricia Nault, who was surprised at what was covered.  She (Patricia) was going to see what she went through and what will be paid in her next exam.

Discussed medical concerns.  Maybe the committee should write a letter.

<Zuzanna had to go 6:00 pm>

New Business continued
Annual Exams continued: Give Laura or Nadine specific examples of the problems people are having.  Dee said there is only one medical provider, and they are not the best, quality service, but they can't travel to Anchorage.  Nadine suggests putting that in writing.  Let's get all the info by our next meeting.  Nadine will contact stewards to collect info.

SJR 20: Lin said it will be resurrected by the Senate.  Testimony starts tomorrow at 9:00 AM.  Call Senator Lyda Green's office to get the call-in number.  Also, email your legislators.  Lin's cell is xxx-xxxx.

Nadine requests we use her hotmail email address.

Solidarity Update
Zuzanna will do an article on the convention auction.  Lin loves to write and is teaming up with her.

Next WIC Meeting
We'll email to schedule it.

Adjourned
Toya moved to adjourn at 6:15 pm.  Motion passed.

Respectfully Submitted,
Laura K Ghormley, WIC Secretary
