ASEA Local 52 Executive Board Meeting
September 4, 2005

The new Chair of the Women's Issues Committee, Nadine Lefebvre, is calling in our committee report to you. Thank you for your time today and your continuing support.

We have welcomed another new member to our committee Toya Winton.

Our new secretary is Laura Ghormley.

Our monthly teleconferences are now scheduled for last Wednesday of the month at 5:15 PM. The consensus of the current committee required the time change.

There were some teleconference difficulties in July which prevented our call from taking place. Those difficulties were dealt with and we had a productive meeting in August.

The committee has finalized its second survey to be posted onto the PINK LINK. We would like to submit that to the E-Board for approval and posting to the PINK LINK.

The power point presentations that we suggested to be posted on the Pink Link for all ASEA members to access at appropriate times to learn from are nearly ready for posting. How and when should we present these to the E-Board for approval?

We are committed to providing training to ASEA members at no charge to them. Funds have been approved by the Executive Board and we have donation promises from 2 local chapters for support of this effort.

Optimally, we would hope for each chapter to participate. They could help to pay for participants to travel to a training location. Or, if they have a large number of participants they could pay to have the AFSCME trainer come to their location.

We had hoped to have an article available for each Solidarity Update. We did not have a deadline for the most recent Solidarity Update so we did not contribute this time.

The NW Region Women Conference is up coming and we wish to send 3 women from our Women's Issues Committee.

Sincerely yours, in solidarity, the Women's Issues Committee
