Stewards who have not attended Basic Steward Training during the current contract will need to attend only the Basic Steward Training. As per the ASEA Collective Bargaining Agreement article 2.02 paragraph B, “Union Stewards shall be allowed up to 7.5 hours for steward training” (the state pays this time).

Stewards who have attended Basic Steward Training but not Advanced Steward Training will need to attend only the Advanced Steward Training. As per the ASEA Collective Bargaining Agreement article 2.02 paragraph B, “Union Stewards shall be allowed up to 4 hours for steward training” (the state pays this time).

Please submit notification for leave to your supervisor as soon as possible.

Basic training (Oct. 3) will be 7½ hours in length.
Start Time 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 (noon)
Break for Lunch 12:00 noon to 1:00 P.M.
Resume training at 1:00 P.M. to 4:30 P.M.

Advanced training (Oct. 4) will be 4 hours in length.
Start Time 1:00 p.m.
Training Ends 5:00 p.m.
