Nine GGU Members Recognized for Service Excellence Print E-mail

Nine members of ASEA/AFSCME Local 52 were selected by Governor Sarah Palin as recipients of the Governor’s Peak Performance Denali Awards, a special recognition of excellence in service. The governor announced four individual awards and one team recognition award in Juneau on Wednesday, May 9.

Two GGU members were recognized among the individual recipients.

Kathy Perham-Hester received the Denali Co-Worker Recognition Award. Ms. Perham-Hester works as a Public Health Specialist II in the Dept. of Health and Social Services in Anchorage.

Irene Ferguson received the Denali Customer Service Award. Ms. Ferguson works as a Records Assistant in the Dept. of Health and Social Services at the Sitka Pioneers’ Home.

The Exceptional Performance Team Award was presented to seven GGU members in the Anchorage office of Mining, Land and Water Division of the Dept. of Natural Resources. The team award recipients include Forrest Weiant, Karen Taylor, Carl Brupbacher, Leslie Sarten, Ben Hagedorn, Erik Johnson and Michele Gorham.
