As you are aware the union is currently conducting a membership advisory vote on the State’s May 4, 2007 contract proposal to the contract negotiating committee.

Ballots were mailed to all members on May 21, 2007. On Wednesday May 23, I sent you a message indicating that some of the ballot packets did not include the “official ballot envelope”.

The ASEA Election Committee has determined "if a ballot is received in the Business Reply Envelope without the Official Ballot Envelope, provided that it meets all other criteria of an acceptable ballot (per ASEA Policy and Procedure 22.00.000), that the vote will be counted."

Please contact the ASEA Headquarters if you did not receive a ballot package or need a replacement ballot. I encourage you to participate in this very important election. IT IS YOUR CONTRCT, YOUR DECISION. Be sure to vote.
