New ASEA Business Agents Announced Print E-mail

Dear GGU member, 

ASEA/AFSCME Local 52 is pleased to announce the addition of three new business agents to fill vacant positions. Toya Winton and Suzan Hartlieb join five other business agents serving GGU members from the Anchorage Headquarters. Carrie Ann Gilmore joins the staff of the Fairbanks field office to meet the needs of members in the northern region.

Toya Winton is a former GGU member with years of service as an ASEA Executive Board member, Contract Negotiating Committee representative and Anchorage Chapter officer. She has served also as an ASEA steward for 15 years and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the position.

Suzan Hartlieb was recently promoted to business agent from her former position as business agent assistant. Suzan began working for ASEA in 2001, performing paralegal duties. Later, she took on additional responsibilities, including contesting proposed bargaining unit transfers and working closely with business agents in the course of contract enforcement, grievance action and organizing.

Carrie Ann Gilmore is a former human resource specialist with the State Div. of Personnel and Labor Relations. Prior to the three years working as a management consultant for the state, she held the post of administrative officer with at the FAA, handling employee and labor relations issues.

The recent hire of new business agents has resulted in an update of assignments.

In other staffing news, a journeyman-level business agent position is being advertised in Juneau. The new business agent will be hired jointly by ASEA and the Public Safety Employees Association (PSEA). The successful applicant will join two current ASEA business agents in the Juneau field office and provide service to Southeast ASEA and PSEA members.
