Your ballot for the ratification of the General Government Unit's Collective Bargaining Agreement with the State for the period of July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2010 was mailed to you today, September 10, by first class postage.

You will receive an envelope marked in red on the outside of the envelope BALLOT ENCLOSED.  I encourage you to vote immediately and return the ballot in the pre-paid postage business reply envelope that is included in the ballot envelope. The completed ballots have to be received in the Union's mailbox by 8:30 a.m. on October 16, 2007.

Also enclosed with the ballot is the General Government Unit's Contract Negotiating Committee Statement of Support.  The Statement of Support gives additional information regarding certain provisions of the Tentative Agreement. A Statement of Gains and Losses that compares each article of the Tentative Agreement with the Union's current contract is also enclosed. You can access additional information about the Tentative Agreement by going to the Union website and clicking on the pink and green banners at the top of the page.

The Union will continue to conduct worksite meetings during the next few weeks to answer questions about the Tentative Agreement.
