August Browning, son of Juneau Chapter member Gregory Emmett Browning, is one of thirteen recipients of the 2008 AFSCME Family Scholarship.
August's academic record and two-page essay earned a $2,000 award from the AFSCME Family Scholarship judges. ASEA/AFSCME Local 52 congratulates Mr. Browning on his successful submission and special recognition.
Each year the AFSCME Family Scholarship Program provides at least 13 scholarships of $2,000 to high school seniors scholarships that will be renewed for $2,000 each year for a maximum of four years, provided the student remains enrolled in a full-time course of study. The scholarship may be used for any field of study.
