Dear Adult Probation Officer,
On May 15, 2008 ASEA made a formal request to the Division of Personnel that in accordance with the provisions of Article 7 of the General Government Unit Collective Bargaining Agreement a Labor-Management Committee be established to discuss the following 3 specific matters that affect Adult Probation Officers:
- Outer wear vests to be worn by the Adult Probation Officers while on official duty
- Outer jacket or windbreaker that will clearly identify them as Probation Officers on official duty
- Protocols that relate to Article 22.05, Standby
The Division of Personnel agreed to establish the Labor-Management Committee to address these issues.
The Committee comprised of Adult Probation Officers Conrad Brown, Olga Guerra, Andrea Kuckertz, and Chris Lyou and assisted by business agent Doug Carson met last week with the management team of Kevin Brew, Rebecca Brunger, Keith Thayer and Deputy Director of Personnel Dianne Kiesel. The Labor Management Committee has a second meeting scheduled for Thursday, May 29.
Update: The date for the next meeting of the Labor-Management Committee has been rescheduled for Friday, May 30.
A copy of the formal request to the Division of Personnel to establish the Labor-Management Committee is attached.
