The ASEA Constitution governs the operating structure, member rights, and organzing principles of the Alaska State Employees Association.
The constitutional amendments passed at the ASEA 12th Biennial Convention were submitted to AFSCME International President McEntee for final adoption. On September 4, 2008, President McEntee approved all amendments as submitted with the exception of the Progressive Dues, Article 5, which must be approved by a vote of the membership. The Progressive Dues amendment passed by a majority vote of the membership on October 23, 2008. On November 19, 2008, President McEntee approved the Progressive Dues amendment and the language was incorporated into the constitution. The current Constitution, approved by President McEntee on January 13, 2009, removes the prior dues structure under Article 5 and reflects only the current dues under a progressive dues structure.View ASEA Constitution
