President Fred Brown has resigned from state service and has stepped down from office of ASEA President effective February 1, 2009.

President Brown made the disclosure at the State Executive Board Quarterly Session held recently in Juneau.

ASEA State Executive Board Secretary Michael Williams will be performing the duties of the president in accordance with ASEA Constitution 8.05.

In accordance with ASEA Constitution 7.07, Vacancies in office shall be filled on a temporary basis by vote of the State Executive Board. At this time there has been no motion by the board to fill the vacancy. Therefore, Secretary Michael Williams will be the Secretary and Acting President until there is a motion by the Executive Board or until the March 2010 election date, whichever comes first.
