1. The CNC met with the State of Alaska for the second 2-day negotiation session on October 13-14, in Juneau.
2. The CNC submitted proposals and counter proposals that included the following:
- Increasing personal and annual leave accruals by three (3) days a year;
- Strengthening our language in article 13, to limit contracting out of GGU jobs and services;
- Adding the day after Thanksgiving as a holiday; and
- Language requiring the State to reimburse the cost of required occupational licenses and certificates.
3. We entered into tentative agreements (TA) on Article 8 (Emergency Personnel) and Article 23 (Meal and Relief Periods). These two TAs made no material changes to the current contract language.
4. The next negotiation session is scheduled for November 4-5, in Anchorage at the ASEA Headquarters.
5. Membership involvement and support is vital to successful contract negotiations.
