State’s Wage Proposal
 
1.5% – 1% – 1%

1. The State submitted their wage proposal of 1.5% increase in year one, and 1% increase in years two and three without a CPI (Anchorage Consumer Price Index) increase. The CNC emphatically rejected this proposal. (See BU #6 for the CNC wage proposal)

2. The State proposed that no changes be made to the Geographic Differential schedule until the legislature changes the schedule in State statute. The CNC emphatically rejected this proposal. (See BU #8 for the CNC GeoDiff proposal)

3. The State maintained their proposal to gut our current health insurance language in order to minimize the State’s employer contribution. The CNC emphatically rejected this proposal. (See BU # 9 for the CNC Health Insurance proposal)

4. The CNC and the State have reached a tentative agreement (TA) on the following: Article 6 (Nondiscrimination and Affirmative Action), Article 7 (Labor-Management Committees), Article 12 (Layoff), Article 13 (Contracting Out), Article 15 (Complaint Resolution Process), and Article 16 (Grievance-Arbitration).

5. The Midnight Sun Chapter (Fairbanks) provided unyielding support by holding an informational rally of 40 plus members at minus 40 degrees.

6. The next negotiating session is scheduled for January 28-29, 2010, in Juneau.

7. Worksite meetings are being scheduled. Times and dates will be announced and posted on bulletin boards.
