1. The State continues to maintain their proposals to gut our current health insurance language and increase wages by 1-1/2% in year one, and 1% in years two and three with no CPI (Anchorage Consumer Price Index) increase.
2. The CNC submitted a counter proposal on wages of 4% plus CPI in year one, and 3% plus CPI in years two and three of the contract.
3. The State has proposed to eliminate the sick/annual leave system. The CNC made a counter proposal to increase the leave accruals by 3 days for all long-term employees that have worked 15 years or more. The majority of the members currently in the sick/annual system would qualify for this increased leave accrual.
4. The CNC and the State have reached tentative agreements (TA) on the following: Article 11 (Employment Status), Article 18 (Performance Evaluations and Incentives), Article 31 (State Owned/Controlled Housing), Article 32 (Parking), Article 34 (Examination of Records), Article 35 (Education Advancement and Training), Article 39 (Superceding Effect of this Agreement), and Article 40 (Legislative Action).
5. The next negotiating session is scheduled for February 9-10, 2010, in Anchorage.
6. Worksite meetings are being scheduled. Times and dates will be announced and posted on bulletin boards.
