1. After 4-1/2 months of meeting with the State, there is still no movement on the monetary terms of the contract from the State’s negotiating team.
2. The CNC again requested mediation to attempt to move negotiations forward. The State refused to agree with the CNC that negotiations are in a deadlock on monetary terms and did not agree to requesting mediation.
3. The State did not make counter proposals on wages, health insurance contributions, and the geographic differential. The CNC still stands firm on our current proposals. (See Bargaining Update No. 11 for wage proposal and Bargaining Update No. 9 for Health Insurance Proposal)
4. The CNC and the State have reached tentative agreements (TA) on the following non-monetary articles: Article 14 (Notice of Discipline and Discharge), Article 17 (Classification Reviews) and Article 33 (Protection of Rights).
5. Your CNC requests your solidarity by wearing GREEN on Wednesday, March 3rd – It’s Green Day!
6. The next negotiating session is scheduled for February 24-25, 2010, in Juneau.
7. Worksite meetings are being scheduled. Times and dates will be announced and posted on bulletin boards. Your participation is essential.
Membership involvement and support is vital to successful contract
negotiations and your Contract Negotiating Committee (CNC) is available
