Dear GGU Member:

A class action grievance was filed on behalf of Article 22.06B of our Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with the State of Alaska which provides all hours worked on a holiday you shall be paid at the holiday premium rate of time and one-half (1.5) the appropriate pay rate, in addition to seven and one-half (7.5) hours straight time holiday pay.

The contract language further states: “All hours worked on any shift that begins or ends between 12:01 AM and midnight on the day of observance as determined under Art. 24.02, Observance of Holidays, will be paid in accordance with this article.”

On March 3, 2017, Arbitrator Richard Humphries’ decision was the State of Alaska violated Article 22.06B of the CBA and granted ASEA’s grievance in its entirety.

If you are already a member of the class action you need to do nothing and will be contacted by ASEA via e-mail requesting further information.

If you are not presently a member of the class action and you worked any holiday as described above, you will need to provide ASEA with documentation for the holidays in question including the dates, times and timesheets (if they are available). The deadline for submitting this information is APRIL 14, 2017. Please make sure you indicate HOLIDAY PREMIUM PAY in the subject line.
