ASEA Business Agents and ASEA Stewards are organizing Worksite meetings. Some of these are in person, some are hybrid, and some are still virtual. However the meeting takes place, we are all excited to connect. Here is a short summary of general items that have been coming up at these meetings, including advice, resources, and other useful information.

Have an issue that you have been unable to find a solution for? Get in touch with us and let us know!

Changes were made to Article 18 during our latest contract negotiations. Under the new contract, step increases are dependent on successful performance evaluations. With the new changes being implemented by the State as it relates to their evaluation process, should you encounter concerns or delays, please be sure to contact your ASEA Business Agent right away so that we can help expedite issues you may be experiencing.

Several members have voiced concerns and issues with pay issues. If you are experiencing a payment issue, follow these two steps ASAP:

    1. Notify your employer immediately using the NOPP form within 15 days

    2. Notify your Business Agent, Steward, or ASEA Headquarters at the same time. The employer must respond within 15 days

  • Returning to a defined benefit - Tier V?

In the last legislative session (the 32nd Legislature), the possibility of giving all members in the PERS/TRS system an option to return to a defined contribution (pension) almost became a reality. Members have been advocating for a return to defined contributions ever since they were removed in 2006. If you are a Tier IV employee and interested in this effort, read our latest update and stay tuned for ways to get involved/engaged.
