Steward Advanced Training

ASEA Stewards,

Advanced steward training this fall is scheduled for October 9, 2025, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm and will be held virtually.  

If you have not done so already, please request absence for this mandatory training.  As this is the first year of the new contract, steward release time will be used for this training (see Article 2.02 below).  A leave slip is not required unless you have used more than 1.5 hours of release time in October prior to the training. If leave is needed, please provide a copy of your release form for the 1.5+ hours along with your request for business leave.

Please complete the following prior to training:

  • Complete the Steward Release Form indicating the time/hours you will miss from regular working hours in order to attend training.
  • Present the request for absence memo (attached) to your supervisor along with your completed release form. 
  • Submit a copy of the supervisor signed Steward Release Form to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and attach the original to your timesheet (Code 102). Approval from ASEA is not required on the release form.

  • Save your registration confirmation email to your calendar
  • Watch for emails about the expiration of steward terms which requires you to re-affirm your expectations as a steward.  If you haven’t been notified by your chapter, please complete the following link to request reappointment: Steward 2025-2028 Extension Form

ASEA CBA Article 2.02.B. “In the first year of this contract, Union Stewards shall be allowed up to fifteen (15) hours for steward training. … All time for steward training shall be deducted from the nine (9) hours per month of steward time allowed under this article.”
