In response to the many concerns we’ve received, ASEA proposed an alternate date in April for the State to implement a bi-weekly payroll schedule. On October 29, I shared an update with you that the State denied that request. The response was not encouraging and seemed to fail to recognize that the State is contractually obligated to reach a Letter of Agreement with ASEA before implementation can move forward. You can read the ASEA response in my letter to Mr. Goecker sent today, November 1. We are hopeful the State will work in good faith through the transition to a bi-weekly payroll calendar they have requested.
In Solidarity,
Jake Metcalfe
