Bargaining Update No.14 | April 11, 2022

Our ASEA Contract Negotiating Committee (CNC) met with the State of Alaska’s bargaining team for its eleventh negotiating session which was held over multiple dates between March 14 and April 8.

  • We were able to reach a tentative agreement on the remaining contract articles.
    • Article 19 Health and Security
    • Article 21 Wages
    • Article 22 Overtime and Premium Pay
    • Article 42 Duration of Agreement
  • The CNC negotiated a 3% increase in year one of the contract, 2.5% in year two, and in year three, depending on the 2022 average inflation/CPI (Consumer Price Index for Anchorage), up to 5% COLA, a slight increase in the employer’s healthcare contributions, an increase in hazard pay from 7.5% to 15%, increase standby pay for adult probation officers in DOC, incidental flextime, as well as continuing our strong outsourcing language. The CNC also protected members from any furlough requirements.
  • The CNC will prepare the statement of gains and losses and an electronic copy of the tentative agreement (redline version reflecting changes in the contract).
  • CNC worksite meetings will be scheduled so members can ask questions about the tentative agreement (TA). The first worksite meeting will be held on April 13 at 5 pm and April 14 at 12 noon.
