Dear ASEA Member,
Today the ASEA Elections Committee conducted a ballot count in the ratification election for a successor Collective Bargaining Agreement with the State of Alaska covering the GGU. The Tentative Agreement, effective July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2025, was ratified by a vote of 2,094 to 210.
Though the State and Union Membership have agreed on the contract language, the Alaska Legislature still needs to approve the monetary terms of the Tentative Agreement as required in the Public Employment Relations Act. The monetary terms are currently included in the draft operating budget and ASEA will continue to communicate with House and Senate leadership as the State Operating Budget approaches passage in the coming days.
