Welcome, Stephen and Jessica
Both Stephen and Jessica joined ASEA just in time for our 20th Biennial Convention, which took place in Anchorage in March. Both also come from our membership. Stephen Sabot is our new Business Agent/Organizer and will represent Anchorage GGU members working for DOC, DOL&WD, DOR, and DOT&PF. He is making his way out to a worksite near you!
Jessica is inspired by the mission-driven work of ASEA and will likely be the first person you see or hear when visiting or calling our Anchorage office. Please scan the QR code or visit our website to read more about each of them. We are so excited to have them on board. Learn more about both on our website.

Welcome, AMEA!
Our union is growing! Earlier this year, AMEA members voted to join our union as our third municipal chapter, making us 8,700+ public employees strong! This has been in the works on and off for the last twenty years, and really picked up momentum after they sought our assistance in their contract negotiations last year. We are thrilled to welcome our union siblings to ASEA and build our worker power as we expand representation to more hard-working public employees. We look forward to seeing how our new AMEA Chapter takes shape under our ASEA umbrella. Please help welcome these members to ASEA when given the opportunity.

NOPP Grievance Recap: While a settlement in the NOPP class-action grievance was reached, delays persist in the issuance of NOPP responses. We recently learned that the NOPP portal has been discontinued from the State of Alaska’s website. If you file a NOPP, please make sure to save a copy and notify your union representative if you disagree with the response.
