Anchorage Chapter Scholarship Committee

Introduction

The Anchorage Chapter of Alaska State Employees Association (ASEA) awards scholarships and tuition reimbursements to dependents of members and members who attend college to further their education in their careers or future careers.

Scholarship Committee function:

The function of the committee is to review all eligible applicants who apply for either program. The committee only interprets and administers the program under the rules currently in place. The committee’s decisions are final.

Anchorage Chapter Dependent Scholarship

The ASEA Anchorage Chapter Scholarship Program is for dependents of Chapter members in good standing, who have been accepted for admission to an undergraduate degree program at an accredited college, university or trade school. The basis of selection is a combination of past performance, an essay, community service, financial need, and recommendations from instructors, employers, or others. If selected, the scholarship will be paid to the Director of Admissions/Registrar at the chosen school. For more information, see form and FAQs. The scholarship amount varies based on the number of applicants that meet all of the criteria. The amount of the award is the total for the academic year and not each semester.

Anchorage Chapter Tuition Reimbursement Program:

The Tuition Reimbursement Program (TRP) is for eligible Anchorage Chapter members in good standing who may be eligible to receive up to $500 of tuition and/or fees reimbursed for coursework based on meeting the eligibility and requirements of the program. For more information, see instructions.
